I Thought I Was Losing It… Until the Universe Humiliated Me in a Grocery Store

Image
I’ve worked professionally with intuition for years, but let me tell you something that might surprise you: Even intuitive people ignore their own nudges sometimes. Yep. Even the ones who teach this work. Even the ones who can feel energy shifts before a word is spoken. Even the ones who absolutely know better. Because being intuitive doesn’t magically make you immune to being human. And honestly? Sometimes the Universe humbles us anyway. A few years ago, I walked into a grocery store already irritated. You know those days where absolutely everything feels off for no logical reason? Nothing terrible had happened, but my energy felt heavy, my patience was gone, and honestly, I wanted to grab my stuff and leave before someone tested me. As I walked past one aisle, I suddenly had this overwhelming feeling: “Don’t go down there.” Not a voice booming from the heavens. Not a dramatic movie moment. Just a very clear internal nope. Naturally, like the rational adult I am, I ignor...

A Lesson in Labels, Lasagna, and Letting Ourselves Change

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in spiritual spaces is the idea that Ego is “bad” and Spirit is “good.” That’s never been my experience. In Talking With The Universe , I teach that Spirit and Ego are meant to work together. Spirit brings expansion, intuition, and openness. Ego helps us create identity, structure, and action in the physical world. And oddly enough… my teenage son demonstrated this perfectly over supper. For years, he has insisted he hates chicken Alfredo. So when I made chicken Alfredo lasagna with leftover rotisserie chicken, I didn’t make a big announcement about what it was. I simply served supper. And suddenly: He loved it. He called it “delicious cheese noodles.” He wanted seconds. Then I told him the truth: “This is chicken Alfredo.” Cue the confusion. 😂 What fascinated me wasn’t the reaction itself — it was what it represented. His Spirit was fully in the present moment enjoying the experience. His Ego immediately referenced the...

Intuition Speaks Before Reality Catches Up

Image
Years ago, while working in a traditional 9-to-5 environment, I had a coworker come into my office feeling completely devastated. A leader within the organization had absorbed their position, and from the outside, the situation looked final. The fear, uncertainty, and emotional heaviness in the room were undeniable. As they explained everything that had happened, I remember calmly saying: “I know this feels life-altering right now, but go home and enjoy the time you’re about to have. You’ll be getting your job back.” They looked at me like I had completely lost my mind. Then they asked the obvious question: “How could you possibly know that?” The truth was, my intuition had already been picking up on energetic patterns surrounding that particular leader long before the situation unfolded. As we continued talking, I also shared that I didn’t feel the leader would remain in that position much longer and that once things shifted, their role would likely be restored. At the time, it ...

The Random Jesus Figurine That Didn’t Feel Random

Image
A close friend of mine has been navigating an incredibly difficult and life-altering season. As they moved through this transition, they were also learning how to reconnect with themselves — how to tune into their body, trust their feelings, and recognize that intuition often speaks through subtle emotional and energetic signals. During one of our conversations, we talked about a major decision they had recently made. Like many people moving through uncertainty, they wanted reassurance. They asked me whether my intuition felt they were moving in the right direction. And honestly? Sometimes intuition doesn’t answer in grand dramatic ways. Sometimes the answer arrives quietly. Unexpectedly. Almost playfully. Later that same day, they received an online order containing a wall decal they had purchased. But inside the package was something completely random and unrelated to the order: A small Jesus figurine. It made absolutely no logical sense. When they told me what had happened, I immedi...

The Hashbrown Casserole Lesson: What Ego Gets Wrong

Image
There’s a story my husband will probably never live down. One Christmas, I told him I had committed to bringing hashbrown casserole for breakfast. Without hesitation, he looked at me and said, “That sounds disgusting.” Naturally, I laughed it off and brought it anyway. Fast-forward to breakfast. We were sitting together eating when he turned to me and said, “Hun, whoever made this… it’s delicious.” I looked him straight in the face and replied, “That’s the disgusting hashbrown casserole I brought.” The look on his face was priceless. But honestly? That moment taught a surprisingly powerful spiritual lesson. We do this all the time in life. We judge things before we experience them. We dismiss ideas because they sound strange. We reject opportunities because they feel unfamiliar. We shut down intuitive nudges because they don’t make logical sense yet. And spirituality? People do this constantly. Meditation sounds weird. Energy work sounds fake. Intuition feels unrealistic. Signs f...
