I Thought I Was Losing It… Until the Universe Humiliated Me in a Grocery Store
I’ve worked professionally with intuition for years, but let me tell you something that might surprise you:
Even intuitive people ignore their own nudges sometimes.
Yep.
Even the ones who teach this work.
Even the ones who can feel energy shifts before a word is spoken.
Even the ones who absolutely know better.
Because being intuitive doesn’t magically make you immune to being human.
And honestly? Sometimes the Universe humbles us anyway.
A few years ago, I walked into a grocery store already irritated. You know those days where absolutely everything feels off for no logical reason? Nothing terrible had happened, but my energy felt heavy, my patience was gone, and honestly, I wanted to grab my stuff and leave before someone tested me.
As I walked past one aisle, I suddenly had this overwhelming feeling:
“Don’t go down there.”
Not a voice booming from the heavens.
Not a dramatic movie moment.
Just a very clear internal nope.
Naturally, like the rational adult I am, I ignored it.
Because I needed coffee.
Halfway down the aisle, I ran directly into someone I had been trying to avoid for months. Not because they were evil — but because every interaction with them drained the life out of me. The kind of person where you leave the conversation questioning your sanity, your energy, and possibly your blood pressure.
And there I was.
Trapped beside canned soup pretending to compare labels while internally screaming.
The entire interaction lasted maybe four minutes.
But afterward? I sat in my vehicle thinking:
“Why did I KNOW that before it happened?”
That was the moment something clicked for me.
Intuition usually doesn’t arrive dramatically.
It arrives casually.
Quietly.
In the middle of ordinary life.
And most of us have been trained to dismiss it.
The Problem Isn’t That the Universe Isn’t Speaking
The problem is that we expect communication to look cinematic.
We think spiritual connection has to feel profound and mystical all the time, when honestly, sometimes it looks like:
suddenly thinking of someone before they call
feeling weird about taking a certain route home
getting a pit in your stomach around someone “nice”
repeatedly delaying something that doesn’t feel aligned
walking into a room and instantly wanting to leave
That’s why I laugh a little when people say:
“I wish the Universe would just give me a sign.”
Meanwhile the Universe is exhausted like:
“I SENT YOU SIX.”
One of My Clients Once Learned This Through a Blue Butterfly
She kept seeing blue butterflies everywhere while preparing for a huge move. Social media. Random decorations. Jewelry. Even on a stranger’s shirt at a coffee shop.
At first she dismissed it.
Then during a session, she suddenly remembered her grandmother used to say:
“Blue butterflies mean you’re on the right path.”
Cue the goosebumps. Tears. Existential crisis. The whole thing.
But here’s what mattered most:
The butterfly wasn’t magic.
Her willingness to pause long enough to notice it was.
We’ve Been Conditioned to Distrust Ourselves
Honestly? Most people aren’t disconnected from intuition.
They’re disconnected from trust.
We’ve been taught to explain everything away.
To logic ourselves out of our own experiences.
To override discomfort.
To ignore body signals.
To stay “reasonable.”
Meanwhile your nervous system, energy, and intuition are trying to wave giant red flags while your brain is like:
“Let’s gather more evidence.”
I used to do this constantly.
I’d feel something was off, ignore it, and later realize my intuition had clocked the situation immediately.
Every. Single. Time.
Here’s What I Want You to Try
The next time you feel:
sudden heaviness
unexpected calm
chills
resistance
excitement that makes no logical sense
a strong urge to avoid or move toward something
Pause before explaining it away.
You don’t have to instantly act on it.
Just notice it.
Awareness is where connection begins.
Because the truth is:
The Universe is probably communicating with you far more often than you realize.
Sometimes through signs.
Sometimes through people.
Sometimes through your own body trying desperately to get your attention beside a banana display.
