5 Signs You're Waiting for a Sign... Instead of Listening to One

Image
Have you ever asked the Universe for a sign... ...only to spend the next three days watching every licence plate, checking the clock every hour, or wondering if that random crow flying overhead was trying to tell you something? Trust me—you aren't alone. One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that people believe the Universe only communicates through huge, undeniable moments. They expect fireworks. A booming voice. A flashing neon arrow pointing them toward the "right" decision. But that's rarely how the Universe works. One of the biggest messages I share in my book, Talking With The Universe , is this: You were never disconnected. The Universe has always been speaking to you. Your journey isn't about getting the Universe's attention—it's about learning how to listen. If you've been asking for signs but feel like you're getting nothing back, here are five reasons you might actually be overlooking the guidance that's already there. 1. You...

The Difference Between Being Offended and Being Harmed

Image
Somewhere along the way, it feels like we've started treating offense and harm as though they are the same thing. I don't believe they are. Before you continue reading, let me be clear: being offended is real. The emotional reaction is real. The discomfort is real. The feelings that arise are real. But being offended and being harmed are not necessarily the same experience. To me, offense is largely based on perspective. Harm is based on evidence. That's an important distinction. A person can be offended by a word, an opinion, a belief, a lifestyle, a joke, a decision, or even a simple difference in values. The offense exists. The reaction exists. But that doesn't automatically mean harm has occurred. When we stop distinguishing between offense and harm, we risk giving the same weight to a bruised belief as we do to a genuine injury. And those are not the same thing. Offense Often Lives in the Story Imagine two people hearing the exact same statement. One shrugs and m...

The Tornado, the Profanity, and the Lesson We Almost Missed

Image
Recently, I came across a video that has stayed with me far longer than I expected. A local farming family had just lost nearly everything to a tornado. Their home. Their farm. Their machinery. Their equipment. Their outbuildings. Two beloved family dogs. In a matter of moments, an entire way of life had been turned upside down. Shortly after the tornado, the husband and father gave an informal interview. Standing in the aftermath of unimaginable loss, he tried to put words to what had just happened. And as he spoke, he used the word "fuck" several times. What surprised me wasn't the language. What surprised me was the response. Among the messages of support were comments focused almost entirely on the words he used. Some people never acknowledged the loss. They never mentioned the family. They never offered support, encouragement, or compassion. Instead, their attention remained fixed on a single word. As I sat with my reaction, I realized this wasn't really about ...

My Body Was Planning Its Exit Before I Had a Plan

Image
There was a period of my life where my body essentially staged a full-blown protest against my career. And honestly? Fair. At the time, I was working in post-secondary education within the healthcare sector. On paper, it looked stable, successful, and respectable. I was teaching, leading, supporting students, and doing work that genuinely mattered to me. But internally? Everything had started shifting. The structure around me had changed. Leadership dynamics had changed. The environment had changed. And slowly, quietly, I realized something painful: The role I once loved no longer aligned with my values as an educator, leader, or human being. Now here's the important part: This was NOT a story about me being disconnected from intuition. I knew. I could feel it. My Guides were direct about it. My body was practically writing strongly-worded complaint letters on Spirit's behalf. The problem wasn't that I didn't know. The problem was that I didn't yet k...
